TASK: Complete this table in your exercise book. Please ensure that when you use the word in a sentence, make the sentence relevant to drug or alcohol use. If you work with a partner you will only have to do 6 each.
Whats in a Cigarette?
Task: Your teacher will allocate you a group.
1) Draw a cigarette in the centre of a new page (landscape view)
2) In a group research concerning ingredients that are found in cigarettes.
3) Write these ingredients around the cigarette
4) You should be able to find at least 10 harmful chemicals or additives.
5) From the 10 chemicals you found, choose 6. What other products can these chemicals be found in? (eg Butane can be found in Fluid lighters).

Long & Short term effects of smoking
Smoking impacts almost all bodily organs, it is expensive and plays a significant role in premature illness and death. Over the past 50 years, there has been a lot of research, education and laws put in place to combat the incidence of tobacco smoking in the community.
Task: What laws are in place to try and reduce smoking incidence or protect others from second hand smoke? Write a list on the board as a class.......
Short-term effects of smoking: These include smelling of smoke, pale skin, reduced fitness levels, higher chance of illness and greater risk of injury. Can you think of any others?
